How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Lead regional efforts to foster a proactive and positive safety culture across manufacturing and office environments.
- Independently manage EHS, Sustainability, and Facilities initiatives while collaborating closely with regional and the Global EHS, Sustainability and Facility team.
- Implement and continuously improve safety programs in support that align with corporate standards and local regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the regional subject matter expert for environmental, health, and safety compliance.
- Drive employee engagement through impactful safety training and awareness campaigns.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations to identify and mitigate hazards and build a positive safety culture.
- Champion the journey to carbon neutrality by 2030, identifying and executing energy efficiency and emissions reduction projects.
- Spearhead initiatives to achieve zero waste to landfill by 2030, including waste diversion, recycling, and circularity programs.
- Oversee all preventative and reactive maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant facility operations.
- Ensure facilities are maintained to world-class standards, creating a safe, clean, and inspiring workplace for all employees.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability into daily operations and long-term planning.
- Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for EHS, sustainability, and facilities to drive accountability and transparency.
- Support emergency preparedness and response planning, ensuring readiness across all regional sites.
- Partner with vendors and contractors to uphold safety and sustainability standards during facility projects and services.
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to reduce environmental impact and improve operational efficiency.
- Act as a change agent, influencing behaviors and decisions that align with corporate sustainability goals.
- Leverage Microsoft tools to streamline reporting, communication, analysis, and project management across teams.
- Provide strategic input to the global team on regional challenges, successes, and opportunities for improvement.
- Represent the company’s values and commitment to environmental stewardship and employee well-being in all interactions.

What You’ll Bring:
- .Bachelor’s degree in EHS or related field required (i.e., facilities management, safety, sustainability, etc.).
- A minimum of three years’ experience in environmental health, facilities management, safety, security, maintenance, and space management required.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S helpful.
- CFM, CSP, or experience in corporate sustainability preferred.
- Advanced PC and organizational skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
EHS Assistant – Palmetto State Armory
The primary focus of this position is to assist the EHS Manager and Range Manager in safety training, assessments, and other safety needs as assigned. They assess the needs of the business, implement training and development plans, and facilitate a wide variety of safety programs that enhance the effectiveness of the workforce.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Identify and assess the training needs of the organization through job analysis, career paths and consultation with managers.
- Conduct orientation sessions for safety training.
- Conduct manager training on safety software and safety programs at company locations.
- Develop individualized and group training programs that address specific business needs.
- Evaluate organizational performance to make sure training is meeting business needs.
- Implement effective and purposeful training methods and schedule training sessions if needed.
- Conduct hazard assessments for each location. Review and implement new procedures as needed.
- Review SDS needs and make changes as needed to keep company compliant with Prop 65 regulations.
- Do hands on training for several safety programs including lock out/tag out, PPE, use of chemicals, etc.
- Effectively communicate with team members, trainers and management.
- Attend classes on CPR, Lead, and other safety topics and obtain certifications.
- Review safety programs and write new safety programs as needed.
- Provide assistance to the EHS Manager and Range Manager on cleanup, inspections, record keeping, etc. as needed and assigned.
- Develop reward system and goals for each department to help meet safety concerns.
- All other duties, as assigned, should be at the end of each list.
QUALIFICATIONS |
- High school diploma or equivalent required (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a teaching position preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years safety experience.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and training manuals.

WORKING CONDITIONS |
The working environment is both indoors and outdoors. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a typical office environment, including heavy PC and phone usage; as well as, working in an operational manufacturing facility and warehouse spaces, with heavy foot and forklift traffic.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS |
This position involves a variety of physical activities including, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. The ability to stand for extended periods of time is also required. Some kneeling, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing, and lifting required. Lifting of 70lbs or less regularly. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Cleaning material chemicals used regularly. Ability to wear required PPE, respirator, gloves, and full body Tyvek suits. Must have limited to no facial hair for proper respirator fitment.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Senior HSE Engineer

Accountabilities:
- Oversee and manage Prevention through Design concepts in advance of plant renovation and construction activities.
- Collaborate with Real Estate, Facilities and Architectural firms to embed safety into plant design.
- Collaborate with Process Engineering to analyze risk in new plant layout and within redesigned work-flow process.
- Supervise & manage consultancy work that supports workflow design and ergonomics solutions.
- Manage workstation risk assessment program and prioritize resulting action items.

- Deploy Management of Change Program for new equipment purchases and facility renovations.

- Prepare weekly status reports for senior management.
- Manage action planning and status reports for local management reviews.
- Verify controls measures from Risk Analyses.
Required skills/experience:
- 10+ years managing safety in a Manufacturing Industry.
- Experience working with Electro-mechanical, machining or electronics assembly.
- Communication, presentation and training Development and Delivery Experience.
- Experience integrating into functional teams and engaging stakeholders from across all disciplines in the HSE Program.
- Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA Regulations and ANSI Standards.
- Demonstrated ability to inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices for compliance with corporate and legislative requirements, standards, and regulations.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships and promote a harmonious safety environment.
- Ability to complete written reports and electronic communications expeditiously and with a high-degree of accuracy and professionalism.
- Computer proficiency with a strong knowledge of PCs and software applications related to the work, such as MS Office, MS Teams, Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint, etc.
- A valid Driver’s License
- Experience in applications of Project Management; prioritizing tasks, budget management, team leadership, and scheduling work activities.
Desired skills/experience:
- Proven ability to oversee and coordinate work of contractors and consultants.
- Experience with reviewing and interpreting engineered drawings and blueprints.
- Knowledge in Electrical Safety requirements and applicable Standards (e.g. NFPA 70E)
- Experienced in identifying and mitigating ergonomic risk factors.
- Experience in deploying concepts of Prevention Through Design.

Job Responsibilities
Directs the daily operation of the Occupational Safety and Health Office (OSHO) in support of the agency’s safety policies. Develops an office budget plan, hires office staff, and initiates loss control countermeasures and performance indicators.
Uses knowledge of state and national safety standards to analyze agency safety policies, programs, and structures to identify deficiencies and develop countermeasures with the intent to reduce employee accidents and injuries.
Oversees and ensures routine reporting is submitted, safety training programs are conducted, and employee wellness initiatives are provided.
Serves as chairperson of SCDOT’s Collision Review Committee and also serves as chairperson of an Occupation Safety Council. Also ensures safety newsletters and quarterly meetings are conducted. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
A bachelor’s degree and seven and one-half (7.5) years of relevant program management experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
The physical demands for the essential functions of this position include sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods and working on a computer. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. May be required to work outside of normal work schedule, especially during inclement weather and/or other departmental-related emergencies. This position requires independent travel to field offices statewide to attend meetings and monitor the overall program.
